What is Microblading?

Microblading is a mimimally invasive procedure that can make the thin eyebrow areas thicker to give them a fuller look. In this procedure, semi-permanent pigment is incorporated to the skin with a handpiece of a machine having several tiny needles.

Microblading is different from the procedure of eyebrow tattooing because each hairline is made by hand using a blade that creates fine slices within the skin.

Microblading is normally done on eyebrows to make, reshape or enhance their appearance in relation to shape and color.

You are a good candidate for microblading if
⦁ You’ve missing eyebrows, faint eyebrows
⦁ change the color or shape of your eyebrows.

In microblading, pigments of chosen color (according to patient’s demand) are applied to the deficient areas of eyebrow including some of hair-rich area to give the appearance of real hairs. The color effect fades over time, so touch-ups are necessary in order to maintain that beautiful look.
The initial procedure takes up to a couple of hours and the eyebrows appear darker immediately after the initial treatment.

While preparing for microblading procedure , you should:
• Avoid alcohol or caffeine beverages on the day the procedure is to be done.
• Do not wax or pluck eyebrows from 2 days before the procedure.
• Do not undergo for chemical peel or any other intense facial treatments at least 2 to 3 weeks prior to the procedure.
• Wash and style hair before the procedure so that the brows do not come in contact with water for at least 7 days.
• Discontinue Vitamin A (Retinol) and Botox treatments from 1 month before the procedure.
• Stop taking any natural blood thinners, such as vitamin E or fish oil 1 week before the procedure.
• Avoid aspirin or ibuprofen to get relief from pain (as these medicines are blood thinners).
• Avoid work out on the day of appointment.

Wash the eyebrows gently with an antibacterial soap and avoid exposing them to excessive water for too long. It will help eyebrows recover faster.
After the procedure immediately; and afterwards for at least 1 week, a person’s eyebrows might appear darker. They may also look sharper owing to scabbing and healing. Some redness and mild swelling can also be there.

Postoperative instructions
• Gently wash over the eyebrows with a fingertip, using antibacterial soap and water for about 10 sec., rinse, and then pat dry.
• Use a minimal amount of moisturizing ointment.
• Keep the eyebrows away from water for 7–10 days, avoid long showers or swimming.
• Avoid putting makeup on the eyebrow area while it is actively healing to keep the area as clean as possible.
• Do not pick at the scabs.
• Avoid moving out in direct sunlight for 4 weeks post procedure.
•Do not use face scrubs or peels for 4 weeks after the procedure.
• Do not sleep on the face for 10 days after the procedure.

After the skin has healed, you should protect your eyebrows and help prevent fading of color by applying sunscreen on the micro bladed area. Color of microbladed eyebrows can last for up to 3 years. A touch-up to finalize the brows may also be required 4-8 weeks post procedure.
After that, we can plan touch-ups as per your requirement.
